WHO WE ARE

The Margaret Sanger Centre International, South Africa (MSCISA) is a regional office of the Margaret Sanger Centre International (MSCI). We are based in Johannesburg, South Africa, backed by the wealth of experience MSCI brings to promoting sexual and reproductive health worldwide.

As part of the oldest international family planning programme, MSCISA has:

  • recognised expertise in comprehensive human sexuality education
  • years of experience in audience-specific curriculum development
  • know-how in strengthening grass roots SRH organisations
  • a proven track record for integrating development challenges in SRH promotion
  • experience in promoting regional networking and South-South exchanges

MSCISA is also part of Planned Parenthood New York City (PPNYC). Because of our connection to PPNYC, we are able to:

  • access global advocacy initiatives for sexual and
    reproductive health & rights (SRHR)
  • link global SRHR concerns in southern Africa to advocacy within the US where key funding decisions are made
  • share a range of best practices in SRH service delivery & community education.

MSCISA works with governmental and non-governmental agencies in southern Africa. Through an international staff of experts, we offer:

  1. technical assistance for developing, implementing and evaluating SRH
    programmes
  2. skills-based training for strengthening SRH programmes
  3. a forum for presentations and informal discussion of important developments in the field, Shop Talk.
