SAFE YOUTH WORLDWIDE IS BORN MSCI is moving full speed ahead on Safe Youth Worldwide, a global youth-focused HIV prevention initiative supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Safe Youth Worldwide utilizes two strategies to achieve its goal of helping local organizations expand and enhance their HIV prevention efforts for youth. The first strategy is to "scale up" model programmes in Chad, the Dominican Republic, Namibia, Nepal and South Africa and document the process to widely share lessons learned. In each country, Safe Youth staff provides technical assistance and financial support to a partner agency. The second strategy is to produce a global user-friendly compendium of programme-related resources to place in the hands of programme planners and implementers the materials they need to scale up their own HIV prevention programmes for youth throughout the world. Both of these strategies are guided by a set of critical components which Safe Youth Worldwide has identified. Please let us know if you want to receive a copy of a detailed description of the critical components framework at info@mscisa.org.za or fabio.castano@ppnyc.org.
