MSCISA offers an array of
technical assistance
for making sexual and reproductive health services more relevant to the populations targeted and more effective in their intended impact. Our technical assistance supports southern Africa in:
 |
- developing gender sensitive SRH programmes appropriate to population needs and available resources
- implementing SRH programmes of high quality and effectiveness
- monitoring and evaluating SRH programmes for continuous improvement and sustainability
|
Training
MSCISA recognises that in order to strengthen SRH interventions in the region, education and training are crucial. MSCISA therefore provides cutting edge skills-based training for improving national SRH programmes through our Centre for Excellence located in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Courses
are crafted to provide hands-on, practical instruction for health workers at all levels, programme managers, administrators and policy makers. Our Centre for Excellence in SRH Training has earned us a reputation for innovation, relevance and effectiveness in the classroom. Training programmes are also provided in-country upon request.
South-to-South Networking
MSCISA is a catalyst for local networking and South-to-South exchanges. Through
Shop Talk, our quarterly informal exchanges, the SRH community is updated on important developments in the field. New research, threats to SRH services, emerging technologies as well as unfolding opportunities for professional advancement are presented and discussed.
Advocacy
MSCISA also works to place local SRH concerns on international agendas through PPNYC's avant-garde advocacy. As a part of PPNYC, MSCISA is able to focus attention on local SRH issues in centres where policy decisions have global impact. |
